Life does not unfold in a vacuum and you are not an independent actor on the stage of life. You are constantly interacting with the people in your environment and the people in your environment are in continuous interaction with you. You are not separate but a part of your environment and the people in that environment. This expresses the truth behind Happiness Realization “Independent Action Is Not Possible.”
When you resonate positively with the people and events around you then you experience an authentic sense of purpose that results in feelings of contentment and happiness, and when you are not synchronous with this field, your ego is in control, drawing you away from peace and harmony…. The choice is yours to make…. Will your ego control you? Or are you in control of your ego?
You
cannot possibly feel alone when you function in harmony with the
people within your space of interaction.
The ego is the opposite of love. It represents the dark side of our selves, the ego wants to always ask “what’s in it for me?. The ego’s favorite word is “I” and “Mine”, and the ego does not give up without a fight. The ego would sometimes rather cause you death than give up its power.
Only unconditional love has the power to dissolve the ego.
The
famous German philosopher Meister Eckart said, “One must NOT always
think about what one should DO, but rather what one should BE.”
Are you being happy and grateful like the Liverpool football manager Jurgen Klopp when asked why he was always smiling and he said ‘I am not always in a good mood but it’s not long I stay in a bad mood. A bad mood is a waste of time. It’s not useful, you suffer, it’s like you have an open wound.’
A
highly evolved person like Jurgen has successfully neutralized the
ego. This is called enlightenment.
You don’t have a soul. You are a soul. You have a body.” —C.S. Lewis
Every person on earth creates his own world based on what he accepts as truth. The world we all live is malleable; it has no structure other than our notions about it. We can’t even recall when we accepted the rules we live by, who gave us these rules anyway….
The ego believes “the truth is what I say it is”…..
As
human beings we have the power to change, but often not at will.
Change comes from insight as a result of experience, which displaces
our old beliefs or modifies them…. either way, change is an
essential to our evolution and happiness.
As
you prepare for or adjust to retirement review these topics on
happiness realization daily..
Create a list of 9 happiness potentials and aim towards achieving them… you can stick this list on your bathroom mirror so can review them every morning as you brush your teeth.
It
is very difficult to be consistently happy when we are living with a
personality devoid of love and compassion because of the ephemeral
nature of the ego..
It is difficult to conceive of happiness without showing compassion and service to others. We have all heard about the benefits associated with committing small random acts of kindness, a sort of astral chain letter.
When you retire, search out opportunities for service, and stay aware of the status of friends and neighbors. You will enrich your life and the lives of those around you through your helpfulness and kindness. That is an essential aspect of living the good life.
As
you enter retirement you will encounter headwinds that may challenge
your happiness, including such obstacles as death of a loved one, ill
health, or financial losses. What will be your response? The best
approach is to yield—bend with the wind—so that you may snap back
when the crisis is over. We can take a lesson from Lao-tzu an ancient
Chinese philosopher and writer, “yielding is an act of strength,
not of weakness”. It is integration with the divine spirit within
each and everyone that is supportive and uplifting.
Your
happiness at this important juncture is a decision, a stated
intention to grow into a new life called retirement. Entering this
new stage of existence offers an exciting opportunity to expand your
knowledge and reveal more of the special gifts that are within you.
Retirement offers the freedom and opportunity to explore life’s
mysteries and make decisions that will transcend time. It may require
courage on your part and a strong conviction to discard aspects of
yourself that no longer serve your best interests. In order to
achieve happiness in this new phase, you may need to become more
attuned to your distinctive nature and reassess your spiritual
convictions. So be it.
There
is no better time to embark on this journey than this very moment.
There is a part of you that knows this— and understands this..
It’s been a long and hard road to get to this point in your life. You are at a life intersection where you need to be introspective and make some important decisions, about what activities you would like to pursue and how you want to “be” while you are in pursuit of these activities…..will you be GRATEFUL for each day and be happy? or will you be discontent and grumpy? Only you have the power to control your outlook.. we implore you to choose to fall back in love with LIFE and ‘BE’ THANKFUL AND HAPPY…
