How Negative Thoughts and Emotions Harm Your Body

Our thoughts have an enormous impact on our bodies and health.

The mind-body connection is much stronger than we think, as our thoughts and emotions stimulate the production of certain chemicals that influence our physical and emotional health e.g. serotonin and dopamine are two chemicals that our brain releases when we’re experiencing happiness or euphoria.

The brain can store important and decisive information for behavior and its relationship to the body.

THE EFFECT ON OUR BODIES

Our emotional states can lead to physical ailments, possibly indicating that we are going through a difficult time in which negative thoughts and emotions have taken control.

DID YOU KNOW THAT?

  • Unexplained pain in the hips could be a sign of fear and inability to make important decisions.

  • Upper back pain is associated with heartbreak; middle back pain is related to the inability to let go of the past; and lower back pain is connected to financial stress

  • When we’re experiencing a situation that makes us angry, a biochemical reaction occurs in the body that raises adrenaline levels and causes us to relive the experience again and again.

  • Feelings of sadness can greatly influence our energy levels and motivation. Sadness causes fatigue, excessive tiredness, and low energy.

FIGHTING NEGATIVE THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS

It is important to think positively, no matter how difficult or insurmountable the situation may seem.

When negative thoughts and emotions try to takeover, it’s very important to take a few minutes to reflect on whether the thoughts are worth spending time and energy on.

Our minds are amazingly powerful and can perform many tasks with ease when given a good dose of positivity-trying to see the brighter side of things.

It has been scientifically proven that positivism and good emotions, such as joy and happiness, release hormones responsible for strengthening the immune system. Similarly, it was determined that negative emotions have the opposite effect and weaken the immune system, making our bodies more prone to illness.

This training should equip you to make changes in your thinking process so that negative thoughts do not rob you of your quality of life.
