HEALTH What is it? Really…?

Your Body: Silently Sick or Happily Healthy?

Health is not how you look or how you feel.

Health is how you are functioning inside.

"Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity."

The Human Body is a MAGNIFICENT piece of equipment able to REPAIR, RENEW and REPLACE ALL its cells and organs, which it does EVERYDAY.

About 15 ORGAN SYSTEMS each one interlocked with the others; 30 TRILLION cells and 600,000 miles of Highways called blood vessels!

YOU KNOW WHAT? THE BODY KEEPS THE SCORE OF EVERY INSULT AND EVERY DEFICIENCY!

Food is the ultimate fuel; the human body, the ultimate engine.  If you don’t put the right fuel in the engine, the machine isn’t going to work very well. We now believe that different people need different types of diet. You can eat the best food on earth, but if it’s designed for somebody else’s metabolism, you’re just poisoning yourself!

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING THIS MAGNIFICENT EQUIPMENT WORK AT ITS OPTIMUM BEST FOR YOUR LIFETIME!

Now we are finding:

    • 18/20 year olds with huge breast/uterine/ovarian tumors.

    • 47 year olds dropping dead “without cause”.

    • Alarming rates of infertility and sub-fertility.

And what do we do?

We say: The Wicked Have Done Their Worst! And move on!

Seek Understanding

    • We must find ways of understanding what is going on and device strategies to avoid the damage being done by increasing toxin load.

    • At present, we wait for disease to strike, then we try to get to grips with it.

    • By the time you are diagnosed with a disease profile, it’s almost too late!

An Iceberg has more danger hiding below the water than could be seen above the water.

The present generation is headed for the iceberg and would crash into it with disastrous results imminently!

Look Around, Be Aware!!

WE ARE POISONED DAILY BY:

    • The Water we drink

    • The Air we breathe

    • The food we eat

    • Sometimes, by the things we put on our bodies, including clothes!

    • Some of the products we use at home constitute an “Assault Brigade” for our bodies.

    • Research shows that women absorb 13.5Kg of Toxins annually from cosmetics!

    • While it’s CONVENIENT to use a microwave oven, it’s certainly NOT HEALTHY!

The combination of lack of exercise and over eating leads to decrease of testosterone and growth hormone , making it even harder to lose weight.

Fat men make 25% less growth hormone on adaily basis and have a pulsatile release of GH that is 3 times lower compared to normal weight guys. Scientists have shown a correlation between body fat and growth hormone and testosterone secretion. The more body fat you have the less growth hormone and testosterone you have.

Death around the Waist!

That “little roll in the middle” represents a real threat to one’s health. There are two kinds of body fat central and peripheral fat. The central fat around the waist and abdominal area is related to diseases like atherosclerosis , type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure , and insulin resistance.

WE CAN GO ON AND ON, BUT THE PERTINENT QUESTION IS: CAN WE STOP THIS DOWNWARD SPIRAL?

OH YES, WE CAN! From the cradle and well into your dotage!

No disease comes calling that has not given AT LEAST 18 MONTHS NOTICE!

We need to change the Model of Healthcare for the next generation if we are going to be able to change the currently unacceptable outcomes.

The 2 areas we need to look at are FOOD and LIFESTYLE

Over the past 50 years, food has changed dramatically. It has become like any other commodity where looks trump content! It’s the CONTENT of your food, NUTRIENTS, that’s important to the body as it provides the “fuel” to drive the systems. When there isn’t enough fuel to drive the system, it falters leading to DISEASE.

The Body lives in a HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT! Constantly bombarded with signals from which it needs to protect itself.

In that case, it makes sense to take a critical look at the ENVIRONMENT

True HEALTH (wellness) embarks upon a lifestyle that includes an understanding of how the environment impacts health – and what to do to repair any damage already done.

What do we mean by environment?

    1. Work space

    2. Living space

    3. Sleeping space

    4. Food

    5. Water

    6. Clothes

    7. Electronics

Your “Work Space” includes the work that you carry home “In your head”.

    • Demanding work schedules

    • Overbearing Boss

    • Unconscionable Work colleagues

These put GREAT pressure on your Adrenal glands.

FIRST, you have adrenal fatigue followed by ADRENAL BURN OUT. GOING RAPIDLY DOWNHILL!! You begin to survive only with the aid of massive amounts of coffee and other stimulants.

HOW DO YOU BREAK OUT OF THIS SCENARIO?

START LISTENING TO YOUR BODY NOW! What has your body said to you today?

Why do we eat?

If your diet is nutrient deficient, your body would demand that you keep eating until there are enough nutrients to meet its need regardless of the energy (calorie) content!

Foods are either… NUTRIENT DENSE or CALORIE DENSE

If your food is calorie dense and your body is getting more calories than it needs, it will be forced to do something with the excess energy – converts it to fat!

In this scenario, your body is NOT getting enough Nutrients. Enzyme systems will NOT work properly. Detoxification will NOT take place. DISEASE WILL TAKE HOLD!

Please notice I have NOT named any particular disease. It is now known that EVERY DISEASE has a toxin overload as well as inflammation base. If you cannot douse the flames of inflammation and carry out constant detoxification, it is a matter of WHEN not IF disease will come calling.

The body has an “early warning system” that indicates the presence of imbalances that can lead to disease at least 18 months ahead of the disease profile/symptoms appearing.

This system is based in the blood.

THERE ARE 30 TRILLION CELLS IN THE BODY. THERE IS ONLY 1 THING THAT TOUCHES ALL OF THEM. HAVING A BLOOD TEST DONE AND GETTING THE RESULTS IS ONE THING. THE KEY IS HAVING THE RESULT ANALYSED TO SHOW THE PITFALLS AND THE DANGER AHEAD!

Understanding Your Teen’s Emotional Health

The teenage years are a time of transition from childhood into adulthood. Teens often have a strong desire to be independent. So they may struggle with still being dependent on their parents. They may also feel overwhelmed by the emotional and physical changes they are going through.

At the same time, teens may be facing a number of pressures:

    • Fitting in at school and among friends.

    • Doing well in school and making good grades.

    • Excelling in activities such as sports.

    • Participating as a member of the family.

    • Working a part-time job.

    • Preparing for college or their next step in life after high school.

The teenage years are important as your child asserts his or her individuality. Many parents wonder what they can do to help their teenager. Remember that your teen may experiment when trying to define himself or herself. They may change their values, ideas, hairstyles, or clothing in order to do this. This is typically normal behavior. You shouldn’t be concerned. However, inappropriate or destructive behavior can be a sign of a problem.

Some teens are at risk for a number of self-destructive behaviors. These teens often have low self-esteem or family problems. They may experiment with using drugs or alcohol, or having unprotected sex. Depression and eating disorders are other common health issues that teens face.

Path to improved well being

Communicating your love for your child is the single most important thing you can do to help them during their teenage years. Children decide how they feel about themselves in large part by how their parents react to them. For this reason, it’s important for parents to help their children feel good about themselves. You can do this by:

    • Building their confidence and self-esteem. Praise them—and be specific. Tell them exactly why you are impressed or proud of them. Spend time with them, and let them know how much you value them.

    • Supporting them emotionally. Encourage them to talk to you. Listen and help them understand their feelings.

    • Providing them safety and security. Give them unconditional love. Maintain routines so they feel secure. Make sure they know home is a safe place for them.

    • Teaching them resiliency. Teach your child how to make it through the tough times. Help them cope with change, manage stress, and learn from setbacks.

It is also important to communicate your values with your child. Set expectations and limits for him or her. These could include insisting on honesty, self-control, and respect for others at all times. At the same time, allow your teenager to have their own space and be their own person.

Parents of teens often find themselves noticing only the problems. They may get in the habit of giving mostly negative feedback and criticism. Teens need feedback, but they respond better to positive feedback. Remember to praise appropriate behavior. This will help your teen feel a sense of accomplishment and reinforce your family’s values.

Establishing a loving relationship from the start can help you and your child through the bumpy teenage years.
