The immune system is a complex network of cells and proteins that defends the body against infection and other diseases. It keeps a record of every germ (microbe) it has ever defeated so it can recognize and destroy it quickly if it enters the body again.
Abnormalities
of the immune system can lead to allergic diseases such as Asthma, immunodeficiency and autoimmune disorders which could be fatal. While no single food can boost immunity, the right balance of foods can strengthen the immune system. A deficiency in any of these factors can reduce resistance to harmful pathogens. Children who are malnourished are at greater risk of infection and this can even be fatal.
The course is split into six modules to help you structure your learning. Each module ends with a quiz so you can assess how well you're doing.
